So you have decided to make Massage Therapy your career, what now?

If you are seeking entry to Massage Courses: The training you receive should offer you much more than the quickest and cheapest path to your career.  There are many things to consider when selecting a course apart from the fees they charge and how often you will need to attend.  You should be ready to consider the following:

  • Am I eligible for government support as a student
  • Is there a clinic on-site for me to work alongside practitioners
  • Do I need to do a placement outside the institute and how is this organised
  • What is the structure of the study program - does it suit the way I learn best
  • What other qualifications might I want and will this course help me gain entry
  • What books and materials will I need to buy
  • Is there a good library

Remember there are many kinds of training organisations:  TAFE, Private Colleges, RTOs and other non-accredited providers.  Before deciding, try to talk to others who are studying at the institution or college/rto to see what they think of the support they get and the recognition they get from people in the industry.  If you want to find out who delivers the accredited course of your choice, Click here to search the national database for courses and qualifications across Australia.  Choose the course of interest and select "RTO by Scope" to find providers in your state.
